FAQ

How do I book?

First things first...
Get in touch and see if I have your date available, at this point I love it if you tell me a bit about your plans like your venue, what your ideas for your day are, your thoughts on your pictures etc.
When you are ready to book I will send over a booking form.
I ask for £200 to be paid to secure the day and the rest paid one month before the wedding date.

Can we meet up before I book?

Yes! I love to meet. for a chat over a brew. Naturally this is dependant on schedules and logistics, during summertime my schedule can get quite wild so we may have to resort to a phone or video call.

Do you airbrush/photoshop/edit out my chin?

In short no.
I edit in Lightroom light and colour etc. When I've covered a wedding sort through my shots and take out unflattering faces (which we all can make while talking or laughing or even blinking! We are human that's what we all do) I have been asked to edit out chins more than I care to remember, your chin is gorgeous, you are gorgeous please enjoy the day and rest assured you look great.

Where are you based/do you travel?

I live in glorious North Shropshire however I will happily travel.
There will be a small travel charge for locations over an hour away and if its further away so not realistic to drive and shoot with in a day there would be an overnight charge too.

When I book, what next?

Firstly yay! Thanks for booking me.
I love to have a meet up before the wedding if possible, I like to bring my camera for a few couples pictures (this is helpful if you're not a fan of having your picture taken)
Things to consider...
Group shots - Please have a think and make a list of each group you'd like, (see group shot question)
If you haven't already decided, let me know if you would like a second shooter. Second shooters are especially handy for larger guest list and if you'd like preparation covered for both parties.

How many pictures will we receive?

This completely varies, however this is a rough guide.
It could be anywhere in-between 60-90 shots per hour.
There are so many variables (number of guests, space that the wedding is held, number of group shots, if you have a second shooter etc etc)
I can show you example galleries so you get an idea of how coverage looks in real life.

I hate having my picture taken, Help!

Me too, my hands suddenly feel awkward and my face does weird things. On the day I assure you that after half an hour or so you'll be used to me. In fact ignoring me I what I prefer. During couples portraits I will give you some gentle directions like - snuggle, look at each other, lean foreheads together, arms around each others waists or simply cuddle and have a chat. You'll be fine I promise.

What do you do during the wedding?

I will be be in the background finding the action.
I'll be keeping an eye on the time, the weather and the vibe.
I will be your cheerleader and help with anything I can ( I have been known to whip out my sewing kit and sew up a hole in someones trousers in an emergency)

How do I navigate group shots?

Lets make a plan.
Group shots are like wedding law, everyone has made an effort, turned up and dressed up nice on their best behaviour so let get a few formal pictures.
I've heard horror stories about group shots so lets try to keep it simple and quick.
1. Make a list of names for each group. I strongly recommend trying to keep this as simple as possible, obviously you can have as many as you want however an extensive list will take time and can impact on the schedule.
2. Send me the list (I will print a copy)
3. Enlist a couple of loud people who know lots of your guests to 'heard' the people on the list (provide them with the list)
4. I will communicate with you as to when these happen, I try to get this done as soon as possible as people tend to disperse so the sooner the better.
5. Pat yourself on the back, you've done the smile at the camera part of the day.

How long will my pictures take?

Normally 5-6 weeks however during exceptionally busy times 8 weeks maximum. I will let you know and update when to expect your gallery.
I will give you an ample sneak preview within 48 hours of the wedding day to tide you over though.

Do you provide RAW files?

No sorry. Only edited Jpeg files will be provide in high res for printing and low res for web use.

Who owns copyright?

As photographer I ultimately own copyright.
You have full personal usage rights so can print to your hearts content and share only your socials, the only thing you can't do is use the images commercially.
Should any suppliers like to use any of your wedding images I ask them to go through me.
I always check if you are ok with this and if you are happy I can supply the correct file size. (I don't charge suppliers for wedding images to be used on social media etc however I ask to be credited where possible).
Charges may apply for wider commercial use.
